An in-depth and factual book providing full evidence of corruption at the highest levels, and what can only be described as thuggery and intimidation by the biotech industry in collusion with governments using their financial might to force this unwanted and unnecessary technology onto an unwilling and, sometimes, unwitting public. Definitely a book to read and voice opinion on for everyone who wishes to retain their freedom of choice to eat natural and uncontaminated food. Tell all your friends and colleagues about the book, and ask them to take action.

This is the must read book of this century, a perfect portrail of monsanto et al and the lies, deceit, corruption of our world. For a few dollars these companies, Government, media etc are ensuring the total destruction of our earth, it's entire eco-system and us. If we do not stop
GE technology now we will not have a future. Mr Smith has written a book that is brilliant to read, informative and at last real detail of what GMO's are and how theyare made. One question How did you get it published? Thank you for doing it though, and congratulations on this master works. Every person must read this.

If you want to know what is going on behind the curtain of deception you must read this fascinating new book and take action against GM! SD is extremely important book because it clearly covers many threats and problems GM industry has poses to ordinary people, animals, and nature

This book reads like a Grisham novel - but the most terrifying aspect of it is that it is all true. This book contains information that every person should have an opportunity to review before making the choice as to whether they are prepared to endorse GM technologies. This book should be read cover to cover by every politician who is responsible for determining what we, as consumers, are ultimately forced to accept.
This book should be placed in the hands of every food manufacturer so that they have some inkling of the potential impact that their raw material choices may have on consumers, and therefore choose wisely. This book should be given to every supermarket owner / manager so that they may make more intelligent and healthy decisions when determining what they will put on their shelves.

I got this book because I had a general sense that genetically modified foods were bad from other people and the scant press that on rare occassions mentioned them.
I wanted to get clear facts so a layperson could understand them and not only is the book highly scientific, it is also exceptionally understandable, and surprisingly easy to read. The book talks about not only the dangers to health from eating gmo's, it also shows how the FDA pushes the foods to approval w/o proper testing.
Also reported is the industry's vociferous discrediting of any information and their sources, when accurate science proves that the gmo science is haphazard and dangerous.
I highly recommend this book. Get some for neighborhood libraries, schools, friends, family, social action groups, churches etc. This information needs to become common knowledge as it is in almost every country except the US.

Seeds of Deception is an up to date, illuminating investigation into the major cover-up by the biotech industry and U.S. FDA concerning the safety of genetically engineered foods. Jeffrey Smith documents how lies, omissions, scientific data distortions, and other deceptions were routinely carried out to promote the false notion that G.E. foods were proven safe when there was no evidence to support this position. His research supports why these radical new G.E. foods have an enormous potential to create new toxins, allergies and diseases without any oversight system in place to label and track these foods.
Smith's book is a must read for consumers, activists, the food industry, policy makers, and elected officials who are concerned about the safety of the American food supply. Smith describes how the FDA and industry covered up the many deaths and injuries in the U.S. from Showa Denko's genetically engineered L-Tryptophan in the late 1980s in an effort to deflect potential public outrage against the biotech industry. Smith exposes the fact that FDA officials knew as early as 1990 that Showa Denko had been using a genetically engineered strain associated with the defective L-Tryptophan.
Smith's book is a powerful wakeup call about the extent to which industry and government will go to promote unsafe and potentially illegal practices to the consuming public. Seeds of Deception is a must read!

The book seeds of deception exposed many things that should frighten everyone- not just the foods that we are eating, but the games and dirty politics going on in Washington. I am now an activist, emailing letters to major tv and newspapers, and telling everyone about this injustice. When I see someone reading a Steven King novel, I show them what I am reading- and and say " I have something even scarier". I am met with puzzled looks- no one is even aware we are already consuming GMO's, or that they are even bad for you. The media has done a great job of feeding us only what Monsanto wants us to hear. Thank You for such an expose into Big business, Government cover ups and media - what happened to "fair and balanced"?

An excellent book. Clearly written. The only question is what can we do with the information. We can a) use our buying power to vote against GM products and b) inform everyone that we can. Is it enough? I think not.
The real problem is one of power, money, a view of people that assumes they can be easily influenced by the "big lie" (which seems to be true) and that we are essentially "consumer units" (the counterpart of factory farm animals that are merely "production units"). How to we change all of that?
The one area he could have spent another chapter on is the use of GM to produce industrial chemicals and drugs. They are grown in open fields with too little control. Look at: http://www.foe.org/ In the bottom right corner of the main screen under "Select a Specific Area", choose "Biofarm". So what industrial chemicals are you eating with your breakfast cereal?

The book, "Seeds of Deception" is definitely an eye opener with shocking and riveting information that needed to be publicize to enable Americans to be aware of this gross negligence perpetrated by the greedy industries who only are interested in deceiving people for their own gain and profit.
I admire the author for his perseverance as a writer to inform Americans. I am terribly grateful for this great author who had the courage to present the facts accurately to the misled American public. Thank you Mr. Jeffrey Smith.
